Here we get a glimpse of Jylda - she will be appearing later in the series as another of Venna's pursuers/tormentors.  We also see here the base physician, and his assistant, Luci, but this is the only version of the story in which they appear. This scene was relevant only because he gives her a super-power sunscreen, which consequently protects her from the worst effects of the mutation rays. Panel 5 and 6 exemplify the extreme ambivalence of the Baroness's feelings for Venna. She's almost begging her to stay, but an instant later, pulls down a shutter against her.  Scary.
